Easter Sunday Guided Tour Day

Date: Sunday 4th April 2010
Description:

A guided tour around the whole site to discover how Twyford Waterworks has provided clean water for generations of Hampshire people, and a chance to see ‘behind the scenes’. The tours are suitable for all ages, but please note that there are steps in places.

Each tour will last approximately 1 - 1½ hours and will take you on a journey from various methods of water extraction through softening and filtering, describing the techniques and explaining the machinery which form part of this fascinating aspect of our heritage.

Stay after the tour to enjoy our tea room and the site at your leisure.

Tours start every 30 minutes from 11.00am.

May 2nd Spring Rally

With visiting exhibits and stalls, steam traction engines, steam rollers, stationary engines, miniature railway and classic vehicles.

The Waterworks will be fully open with restored machinery in operation, together with the industrial narrow gauge railway.

June 6th Communications Open Day

Find out how we used to communicate. Featuring visiting communications vehicles, telephones & switchboards and radios.

July 4th Models & Miniatures Open Day

Description:

Models of all types. Layouts, engines, miniature traction engines & other vehicles, Lego and the Eastleigh Model Boat Club.

The Waterworks will be fully open with restored machinery in operation, together with the industrial narrow gauge railway.

August 1st Industrial Narow Gauge Railway and Rural Crafts Open Day

Something for everyone!

At least three industrial narrow gauge locomotives in operation on the kiln and quarry railways (please note: rides not given).

Wood carving and lace making plus visiting classic tractors.
