Opening Times
Please note that we accept credit or debit cards, as well as take cash or cheques, when you purchase your admission tickets or buy refreshments, gifts and souvenirs.
Refreshments: The tea room is situated in the main building and is open on every Open Day from 10.45am serving a selection of hot and cold drinks, home made cakes, sandwiches, soup, snacks and confectionery.
Plus our BBQ serving locally sourced burgers & hot dogs
Disabled Access: The site is on two levels, and there is full disabled access to the main buildings and displays. Access for wheelchair users and for anyone requiring assistance to the higher level Lime Kilns and water softening plant can be organised with advanced notice. (Accees is via a gate at the rear of the site approx. 100yds up a bridle path which can be reached by car. From there, the Lime Kilns are up a grass slope. Please make sure your wheelchair is suitable)
We now have full disabled toilet facilities on the main building level.

Toilets: Our toilets have been completely refurbished, and now provide modern facilities with level access from the main lower level.
Gift shop: The Kiosk carries a range of gifts, books, toys, stationery and greetings cards to complete your visit.
Car Parking: We have ample FREE car parking adjacent to the Waterworks. Look for our signs and stewards as you drive along Hazeley Road.

Dogs are welcome as long as they are well behaved and keep their owners on a short lead!
Public Transport: South Western Railway provides an hourly service to Shawford on Sundays and the Waterworks is a 30 minute walk. Winchester has a frequent service from London, Southampton and Reading. Some Open Days offer a free bus service from Winchester. Check on the 'Open Days' page. There are also taxis available from Winchester station.
Unfortunately, there are no longer any public bus services to Twyford on Sundays.

Twyford Waterworks is open on specific days throughout the year.
​
We celebrate many aspects of heritage at our open days throughout the summer months and offer guided tours around the waterworks. Full details can be found on our 'Open Days' page.
​
On each of the Open Days the Waterworks is fully open with restored machinery in operation, together with the industrial narrow gauge railway and a range of visiting exhibits.
​
We also welcome group visits by prior arrangement and can provide guided tours tailored to your interests. On these days the Waterworks is fully open but generally the machinery is not in operation.

Opening times for all events and tours is 11am to 4pm
Gift Aid price Adults £8, concessions £7 and under 16's free.
Gift Aid admission prices include a voluntary donation and by paying this you enable Twyford Waterworks Trust to reclaim the tax on the whole amount paid. This is currently worth 25p in every £1.00.
Non Gift Aid price Adult £7, concessions £6

Please note that Twyford Waterworks is an operational water abstraction site and access is only available on our advertised days.
We cannot give rides on our industrial narrow gauge railway.
